On This Day: Baseball is revived in Lancaster

 
The Ironsides baseball ball clue announced is revival On This Day in 1880. A. C. Speace is the new manager. The club lists its nine players as: King, Cosgrove, Zearcher, Brown, Miller, Pepper, Arnold, Wilson, and Hiler.

J. Reach, of Philadelphia, made the club’s new suits. They Ironsides grounds were located between the Pennsylvania and Reading Railroads in the northwestern part of the city. The club had originally been organized in 1869.
