July 2014
Travel back in time to the year 1863 as civilian and military reenactors transform Landis Valley into a Civil War village. The living history event includes various era related demonstrations. Attendees will experience musket drilling and demonstrations, see the cavalry, and learn about the U.S. Sanitary Commission. There will be horse-drawn wagon rides and tours of the soldiers' camp and an artillery recruiting station. The event will take place Saturday, 26 July and Sunday, 27 July from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Landis Valley is located on Landis Valley Road at Oregon Pike, Manheim Township, Lancaster County. Admission is included in the regular admission cost.
August 2014
The Lancaster Historical Society will present “Q&A: James Buchanan Comes of Age” on Saturday, 2 August. Living History Tours take place on the hour from 12 pm to 4 pm (the last tour starts at 3 pm.) Admission prices are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 for students (11-17), and children 10 and under are free.
The annual Bookworm Frolic will be held at the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society on Lincoln Highway, Lancaster, from 13 August through 16 August. The sale runs 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

September 2014
“Coatesville Remembers 9/11” This free event will remember the fallen heroes of that fateful day. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with afternoon tours at the National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum. The Museum is located at 50 South 1st Avenue, Coatesville.

October 2014
Celebrate the Harvest on Saturday, 18 October at the Lancaster Longhouse at the Hans Herr property. The Hans Herr House is located off Route 741 in Willow Street.

Looking Ahead to 2015
The Chester County Historical Society will hold its 2015 Antiques Show at the Phelps School from 3 - 5 April 2015.

The NGS 2015 Family History Conference will be held 13–16 May 2015 in St. Charles, Missouri, at the Saint Charles Convention Center. More info to come closer to the event.
