Military Monday: James Deyoe

James Deyoe, son of Jacob and Mary Schermerhorn Deyoe, fought in the Civil War, according to New York, Town Clerks' Registers of Men Who Served in the Civil War, ca 1861-1865. He was born in Lexington, Greene Co, New York on 8 July 1822. At the time of his enlistment he was married and living in Ulster County, New York.

James enlisted on 8 August 1862 at Shandaken, Ulster, New York. A Private, he served in the 120th Infantry, Company B. He was discharged in June 1865 in Kingston, Ulster County, New York.
