Faces from the Past: VanHorn Family

Years ago I got an old family scrapbook from my Aunt Helen (Still Webster). This photo was identified simply as :VanHorn Family." I believe them to be (seated) Maria Rice VanHorn (b. 1841), Thomas VanHorn (1866-1917), Chrispin P VanHorn (1839-1902) and (standing) Mary Alice VanHorn (b. 1868) and Sarah Jennie VanHorn (1864-1946). The identification is a best guess based on ages and difference between ages.       Friday's Faces from the Past is a genealogical prompt of GeneaBloggers.   © Jeanne Ruczhak-Eckman, 2015

Faces from the Past: Panko Hruszczak

Panko Hruszczak is my great grandfather. Today is the 46 th anniversary of his passing so it seems only fitting that today he is the focus of Friday’s Faces from the Past. Vichnaya Pamyat Note: The photo is from a copy of his naturalization papers. Friday's Faces From the Past is a genealogical prompt of GeneaBloggers.

Friday’s Faces from the Past: An unidentified Still or Van Horn perhaps

This photo is from mom's side of the family but I am unsure of anything more. I believe it is from her father's side and is either a Still or a Van Horn since it has been stored with other items from those two particular lines. Franklin Still (1853-1931) married Sarah Jennie Van Horn (1864-1946) on 6 November 1884 in Philadelphia. I do not know how the two met. Franklin was the son of George David and Sarah Bing Still. They all lived in East Fallowfield Township, Chester County. Sarah Jennie was the daughter of Chrispin Pierson and Maria Rice Van Horn. They lived, for a time, in Philadelphia. The back of the photo reveals nothing. There is no markings, not even a photographer's name. I have very few photos of the family so it is hard to compare against others.
