I stumbled upon the Bridesburg Methodist Episcopal Church last week while searching out my Van Horn line. The church was located at 2727 Kirkbride Street in Philadelphia. The parish was formed in 1834, according to their website. Ancestry.com provides a copy of the church records from 1851 to 1874. The records had been records by the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania. The copy is not the greatest and is in fact difficult to read many pages. It looks to have simply been filmed or photocopied as opposed to transcribed.
The first recorded baptismal record involving a Van Horn is that of Ann Vanhorn. Ann was baptized on 21 October 1855. She was the daughter of George and Mary Vanhorn. She had been born 20 June that year.
