My parents – Joseph Ruczhak and Barbara Still – were married On This Day in 1967. They were married in St. Patrick’s RC Church in Kennett, Chester
The maid of honor was mom’s cousin Lydia Raucher. The best
man was Daddy’s brother John Ruczhak, although on the official church paperwork
mom’s brother, Thomas Still, was listed as he was Catholic. The bride’s maids
were Gloria DeFazio, Gloria Sammons, and Frances Sosko. The latter two being
cousins of mom and dad respectively. The former being mom’s best friend. Ushers
were mom’s brother Thomas Still, Daddy’s cousin John Yuzwiak and his friend
John Palakovic.
Their reception was held at the West End Fire Hal in Coatesville,
which is where Daddy grew up. They honeymooned in the Bahamas .
At the time of their wedding, mom was an accountant with the
Kennett Canning Company and Daddy was an inspector at Lukens Steel Company.
