On This Day: Census records centurion

The 1880 census was done back on 1 June and the enumerator was Peter Hiller. He reported, On This Day in 1880, that the oldest person in Lancaster County was Mrs. Nancy Sterrit. She lived in Conestoga Township. She was, on the first of June when the census was taken, only four days shy of being 100.

The article continued on listing the oldest person in each municipality. The oldest person in the southern part of Warwick was 89 year old Martin Eckman.
