On This Day: Lock Haven mill burns


Furst, Kiemer & Co.’s mill burned On This Day in 1880. The planning mill was located in Lock Haven, which is in Clinton County. 

A planning mill takes seasoned boards from a sawmill, and creates finished dimensional lumber. Lock Haven, which was founded in 1833, was a logging community.
