Professor Emil Aust, a musician, applied to Judges Livingston and Patterson to have his two sons sent to the House of Refuge in Philadelphia On This Day in 1880. Aust alleged that his sons were incorrigible.

How sad! As a former family therapist, I suspect it was the father who was incorigible or just too tempermental...an artist perhaps, narcissistic perhaps, who should never have had children! Do you know what happened to them? Helen
