On This Day: Statue of Liberty dedicated

President Grover Cleveland dedicated the Statue of Liberty On This Day in 1886. The now iconic statue was a gift from France. The statue was shipped from France in 350 separate pieces and stands at 151 feet tall. The Statue of Liberty is now a National Park, located in New York.
