Genealogical Gems

sigh ... I'm afraid I haven't had much motivation for anything lately - including my genealogy research. I don't know if it is because of the holidays or due to ongoing health related stress or ongoing financial stress or if I am just too tired to care anymore. Whatever the reason ... my GOAL for 2012 is to gain some energy! He who hesitates is lost. Proverb  ... so my resolution this year ... is to stop hesitating ... The best way out is always through. Robert Frost ... to plow ahead ... and to pull myself out of this blackhole that I find myself in.

Most people collect something. This normally makes Christmas shopping for that person very easy. Normally! What do you get the person who collects ancestors? Charles Eckman son of Aldus Eckman & Emma Miller Eckman 1873 - 1876 buried at Zion Reformed Church New Providence, Lancaster County, PA Aldus and Emma were the parents of my husband's paternal grandmother, Margaret Eckman. Charles died when he was three and is actually buried next to Aldus' first wife and a son by that marriage. The church is now called Zion United Church of Christ. While there are many family members buried here on the Eckman side, Aldus and Emma are actually buried in the Clearfield UM Church Cemetery over in Rawlinsville.
