A Quarryville man has been accused of rape and fornication and bastardy. These charges were made against Henry Shaub, barely 18 of Quarryville, On This Day in 1880. He appeared before Alderman McConomy. The charges were made by Mary Finefrock. She is described as “a young girl who is said to be of rather weak intellect.” Shaub was held for court. The Rodgers had been married 15 years, which would put their marriage year as 1895. Harry is their eldest at 24 years. William is 20. Frank is 14. Daughter May is 12. Daughter Ruth is 10. Ralph is eight. Norwood is just three. They also had two boarders - widower Walter Finnefrock and his three year old daughter Margaret - living with them.
