NGS Partners with Fold3

The National Genealogical Society recently announced it has formed a partnership with Fold3, a military history website. NGS and Fold3 are announcing this partnership in celebration of the 4 th of July this week. Fold3 features over 94 million historical records from US institutions including the National Archives. Military records, naturalization records, and city directories are just a few of the different collections found on Fold3. Joining Fold3 and locating an ancestor’s military or naturalization record is a fitting way to honor their legacy this 4 th of July. Deadline approaching for early NGS registration

The early-bird registration discount ends tomorrow on Tuesday, 20 March for the NGS 2012 Family History Conference. The Conference will be held 9 – 12 May at the Duke Energy Convention Center, Cincinnati, Ohio. By registering early, you will enjoy a $35 discount and only early birds will be able to order a printed syllabus. NGS members enjoy even greater discounts. According to the NGS, as of this morning space is still available for most conference social events and workshops including the Friday night NGSQ 100th Anniversary Reception, Tuesday bus tour, museum center tour and dinner, and the NGS luncheon that features local celebrity, Dan Hurley.
