Our Aunt Jo (hubby's father's sister) passed away at the age of 86. She and I used to write each other often. I used to get so excited when there would be a letter of hers in the post.

Josephine M. Pelikoski (nee Eckman) passed away peacefully on January 26, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony Sr.; Loving daughter of the late Mabel and John Eckman of Philadelphia; Sister of John and Frank.
Josephine is survived by her two loving sons, Anthony Jr. (Betty) of Atco and Robert (Nancy) of Ocean City, NJ; Proud grandmother of Christine and Anthony III and Nancy's son, Jim and great grandmother of Chase.
Josephine was raised and educated in Philadelphia. After high school she became employed in the payroll dept. of the John B. Stetson Co. when they were working on military contracts during WWII. After the war, Josephine was employed in the bookkeeping dept. of the So. Phila. National Bank until she married the love of her life in 1948, who had returned after serving 6 yrs in the US navy.
The family moved to Atco in 1960 to a mini farm where their sons could enjoy their sports and hobbies with friends. The family enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.
In the late sixties Josephine was employed in Lacy's Fabric Shop in the Berlin Farmers Market making many friends thru her interest in sewing. She was later employed as a cashier for 7 years in Annings Variety Store in Atco until the store closed. She was later employed as a Cashier in the original Canals Wine and Liquor store in Berlin for 14 yrs. until retiring at age 80.
Josephine and her dear friends, Mary, Marie and the late Fran, enjoyed traviling the US, Canada, the UK, Hawaii, Alaska, So. America, the Panama Canal and many carribean Islands. She enjoyed many cruises with her family and friends.
Josephine loved all animals and supported many animal shelters and orphages and the Oasis Animal Sancturary in Williamstown. She leaves her two precious feline companions, Patches & Buttons to the care of family.
Josephine was a avid Phillies fan. Josephine was a member of the Atco Presbyterian Church and Bluebirds. She was a long time member of the original Federated Womens Club of Atco, the Atco Senior Citizens Club and a member of the Atco Cemetery Assoc.
Services were held privately at the request of the family and under the direction of the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory.
