Levi Groff, 101, Quarryville
Levi W "Pete" Groff, 101, of 695 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, formerly of Georgetown Road, Christiana, died Thursday, 4 September (2003), at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community.
Groff was a retired self employed farmer in Colerain Township.
He was a member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, Quarryville.
He enjoyed going to the mountains.
Born in Eden Township, he was the son of the late Joseph M and Laura Groff Groff.
He was married to Jennie M. Eckman Groff, who died in 1985.
Surviving are two daughters, Gladys G., married to Earl Gibson of Atglen, and Martha "Marcy" Frutchey of Quarryville; a son, Donald E married to Mary Groff of Christiana; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; four step-great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Hastering of Kirkwood and Ada Mowrer of West Grove.
He was preceded in death by a son Melvin L; a daughter Mildred Reinhart; two brothers, Chester and Joseph; and three sisters, Emma Snyder, Eva Eckman, and Ella Eckman.
