Today - 13 May - is the 150th anniversary of the first burial at Arlington. The cemetery is on Confederate General Robert E. Lee's confiscated estate.

There will be a wreath-laying ceremony on Private William Christman’s grave.
His was the first military burial at the cemetery on May 13, 1864.
The U.S. government bought the property, after the family of Confederate General Robert E. Lee lost the land in a property tax dispute.
